MGH Resiliency Training

MGH Resiliency Training, Summer 2024

In the summer of 2024, I completed the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) Resiliency Training Program, earning certification to lead a skill-building initiative designed to teach young adults strategies for managing stress and difficult emotions. This training focused on the Living In Families with Emotions (LIFE) program, developed for young adults enrolled in middle school. The primary goal of the LIFE program is to equip young adults with tools to navigate the emotional challenges of daily life and safeguard their mental health. Over the course of eight sessions, the program teaches participants how to recognize and articulate their feelings, along with healthy coping strategies for responding to difficult experiences. The LIFE program utilizes a combination of brief lessons on emotional functioning, group discussions, live exercises, and situational examples to illustrate key concepts. Through two research studies, the program has demonstrated effectiveness in reducing early symptoms of mental health conditions and improving emotion regulation in young adults.
