The year-long review of the Dynamic Media Institute (DMI) at MassArt, conducted from 2023 to 2024, examined the program's evolution and future direction. Founded in 2000 by Jan Kubasiewicz, DMI transitioned from the Graphic Design MFA into a forward-thinking program that embraces the changing nature of design. Over 25 years, DMI has adapted to shifts in technology, design, and leadership. The review, aligned with MassArt’s Strategic Plan Refresh, focused on the impact of COVID-19 and social concerns on higher education, resulting in key insights and recommendations for DMI's future.

DMI Program Review

I have served on the MSCA Investigative Budget Committee since 2023, under the leadership of Rala Diakite from Framingham State. The committee, which meets monthly via Zoom, is responsible for reviewing and analyzing budget-related issues for the MSCA. My involvement continues this year, and I remain committed to representing my colleagues and contributing to the MSCA’s governance and financial oversight.

In the spring of 2024 I served as the cognate on the Architecture search committee for a tenure track position, with Paul Paturzo and Paul Haijian. We interviewed seven candidates and brought four to campus. The search successfully resulted in the hire of Armando Plata.
